Extension to Sir Robin Budenberg’s term as Chair of The Crown Estate
The Crown Estate has announced that Sir Robin Budenberg CBE will extend his final term as Chair for up to a year. The process for the appointment of a new Chair will commence in due course.
The position of Chair of The Crown Estate is typically held in four-year terms, with appointees serving no more than two terms. Robin’s second and final term has now been extended by up to a year, until July 2025, to ensure a smooth transition once a new Chair has been appointed.
Robin is also currently Chair of Lloyds Banking Group. He is the former London Chair of Centerview Partners and was previously Chair and Chief Executive of UK Financial Investments Ltd (UKFI). Robin was formerly a Non-Executive Director of Big Society Trust and Charity Bank Limited. He was awarded a CBE in 2015, and received a knighthood last year in recognition of his contribution to the economy.
The extension to Robin’s appointment was made in accordance with the Code of Practice published by the Commissioner for Public Appointments. The position is appointed by His Majesty The King under Royal Warrant, following recommendation by the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Prime Minister.
