The Crown Estate and Lone Design Club launch immersive pop up focussed on sustainability
The Crown Estate has partnered with Lone Design Club, independent designer concept store, to launch a pop up which will celebrate the emerging brands, companies and people who are all working hard towards a more sustainable future.
Located on Regent Street, The Conscious Edit store will bring together industry leaders, change-makers and a range of sustainability conscious, independent fashion, beauty and lifestyle brands. Designed to showcase the innovation happening within the industry and some of the small steps we can all take toward a more sustainably conscious lifestyle.
Alongside the collections and pieces for sale, visitors will be able to rent items of clothing with Rotaro and bring their pre-loved items of clothing to be repaired and upcycled in store with Sojo. There will also be a range of fun and educational talks, digital activations, live podcasts, catwalk shows and presentations to engage visitors with information and ideas to help with living in a more socially and environmentally sensitive way day to day.
It also follows on a number of other sustainably focussed pop ups across the London estate, including; The Green Planet experience, Clean Power pop up, and The Regent Street edit.
Simon Harding-Roots, Managing Director for London at The Crown Estate, said: “We wanted to create a purposeful experience on Regent Street, in the heart of our London portfolio to showcase and learn from brands who are pushing themselves to design and create products that people love, whilst also minimising their impact on the planet, and helping support social outcomes.
“This is something we know our customers and visitors are passionate about together with a more diverse retail offer. We hope this pop up will provide food for thought alongside a fun and engaging new experience.”
Councillor Geoff Barraclough, Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Development at Westminster City Council said:
“Since early 2021, we have been working in close partnership with The Crown Estate to enable emerging brands with a sustainability focus to pop up in Central London. We are very pleased and excited to see the new collaboration with Lone Design Club, who have previously and successfully participated in Westminster’s pop-up programme across the West End. In a post-pandemic world where we need to find innovative ways to attract more people back to our high streets, pop ups like The Conscious Edit provide a new retail offering, bringing energy and vibrancy”.
The Crown Estate and Lone Design Club have worked with leading product intelligence and compliance platform Compare Ethics, to help show tangible metrics of the brand’s sustainability efforts to create positive change.
While there will be elements of newness, the Lone Design Club team will be searching for the most innovative interiors companies out there, striving to build the store out of entirely recycled materials
