The Crown Estate bolsters Development team
The Crown Estate has appointed key individuals to its London Development team, as it begins to shape its pipeline of developments across the portfolio.
Kristy Lansdown has been appointed as Head of Development, James Atherton as Development Director, and Andy Goodenough as Commercial & Cost Director. Kristy will be leading the Development team in London, reporting directly to Simon Harding-Roots, Managing Director for London, and James Atherton will be responsible for development projects across the Regent Street portfolio. As the significant pipeline begins to take shape, Andy Goodenough has also joined the team to strategically drive forward project procurement, contracting, and commercial management for the London team.
Kristy previously worked at Lendlease Europe for 17 years holding a number of roles, most recently as Project Director for two of Lendlease's flagship projects. These included; Elephant Park, a mixed use neighbourhood of c.3,000 homes, and The International Quarter London, a 2.5m sqf workplace destination on the doorstep to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford. Kristy brings an array of expertise having worked on the design, planning and delivery of a variety of large-scale projects across residential, workplace and retail uses, with a passion for public realm and placemaking outcomes.
James joins after 15 years with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield where he was Development Director responsible for retail, office, hotel and land management at Westfield Stratford City. Andy joins from Qatari Diar, where he was Commercial Director, working with the team to deliver a variety of flagship projects across their portfolio.
These appointments follow other recent new joiners to the Development team; David Semple and Ines Jorge, who have both joined as Development Managers focussing on St James’s in London.
Kristy Lansdown, Head of Development at The Crown Estate, commented: “This is a really exciting time to be joining The Crown Estate, with the emerging vision and development strategy for the London portfolio, and the opportunity to work with partners, customers and communities to respond to, and support the changing needs of our city.
“We are in a new chapter for London, and we have a fantastic new team, with vast expertise who are passionate about delivering exemplar sustainable outcomes, whilst also creating engaging and vibrant neighbourhoods for everyone to enjoy.”
Simon Harding-Roots, Managing Director for London at The Crown Estate, said: “We are pleased to welcome a number of new colleagues to our development team over the past few months who bring a breadth of experience and will play a key part in supporting our emerging ambitions to reinvigorate and reimagine our portfolio in the West End.
“Kristy’s role in particular will be vital in looking at that broader strategic approach, how we can draw districts and neighbourhoods together, and foster vibrant, diverse, and sustainable environments for our communities, rather than focusing simply on the development of individual assets.”
