Accessible and inclusive places
We’re creating places that provide positive experiences for everyone.
We want our places to present positive opportunities and experiences for everyone regardless of their physical, mental or social background. This requires building partnerships that can help us evolve our spaces with fresh and varied perspectives.
We’re committed to improving the experiences of visitors to our spaces through providing clear information on accessibility. This includes accessibility audits completed by AccessAble available online, and exploring our destinations with people to understand their lived experience to guide our work.
Long-term vision for Regent Street
During the pandemic, we worked in partnership with Westminster City Council to install a temporary scheme in the interest of public safety.
Regent Street evolved as we trialled improvements to its accessibility and the general experience for all who use it. This included adding 5,000 square metres of increased pedestrian space, 330 planters, 60 new trees, accessible seating and 1.2km of cycle lanes.
We’re committed to improving the environment in the West End to maintain its status as a global destination that’s welcoming and inclusive for everyone. Urban greening is also essential, allowing our spaces to adapt to a changing climate with improved cooling, urban drainage, biodiversity and air quality.
We ran a consultation with Westminster City Council in the summer of 2023 and we’ll continue to engage with residents, businesses and visitors as we create the very best experience for everyone.
