Sir Robin Budenberg CBE

Robin took up the post of Chair of The Crown Estate on 1 August 2016 and was reappointed on 1 August 2020.

Robin has advised companies on strategy and governance throughout his career and was responsible for oversight of these issues when managing the Government’s investments in UK banks following the 2008 financial crisis. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Exeter. He was awarded a CBE in 2015 and a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours list 2023.

Robin is currently Chair of Lloyds Banking Group. He is the former London Chair of Centerview Partners and was previously Chair and Chief Executive of UK Financial Investments Ltd (UKFI). Robin was also formerly a Non-Executive Director of Big Society Trust and Charity Bank Limited.
