Sol Anitua

Sol Anitua joined The Crown Estate as Executive Director for Strategy, Research & Innovation in January 2022 and is a member of the Group Leadership team.

Sol has a broad background with around 20 years’ experience in energy commodities markets, banking and strategy, as well as in the third sector.

Most recently, Sol was a member of the Advisory Board and Chief of Staff at Plastic Energy, a disruptive cleantech specialising in recycling previously unrecyclable plastic waste to support a circular economy for plastics. Prior to this, she was Head of Strategy for Santander UK, and has held senior roles at Vitol and Merrill Lynch, having started her career at McKinsey & Co. Sol was also a Non-Executive Board Member at Natgas AG, a Potsdam-based gas and power company.

She received an MBA from the Wharton School and an MA from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, having previously graduated both in Law and Business from ICADE, Universidad Pontificia de Comillas.
